Who Wants To Be A BullionaireDescription:
A project that mimics Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, used for EmblemCon 2024
This project was built for EmblemCon 2024. Since 2023, one of the moderators suggested we try a Fire Emblem spin to the game show "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" and I thought that was an excellent idea! Between me, my partner Ducessa, and the mod, we decided that Ducessa and I would be the ones quizzing each other, since we've been putting other mods in the hot seats previous years.
Building out this interface was one of the last things I did before graduating, and I did it all in one night! I took what I knew from a previous project and upgraded it based on the knowledge I knew now.
Rather than the inefficient way of writing out each function individually, I managed to find a way to consolidate all of the functionality I needed into 3 functions; setQuestion, incorrectAnswer, and correctAnswer. I knew that as long as I wrote the events in the right places, and in the right order too, it would work for every question that I had.
And not just what I had, but what Ducessa had too. Since she's not as experienced with code, I had to make sure to make this interface simple for her to edit. Thus, I consolidated all of the questions its own JS file that I sent to her as a blank copy and explained what she needed to fill in. I also told her what lines in the html file she needed to change.

The intial display, where it shows the order of games (going from bottom up), lifelines (that are tailored to Fire Emblem), and of course, the question and answer options area.
When the player selects a correct answer, the answer turns green and the game on the left gets crossed out.
Ducessa's version of the game, which shows a completely different order than what I had.
