Sunbiscuit Portfolio RevampDescription:
A revamp of a portfolio site for a dear friend and long-time supporter!
One day, I was looking up my friend Sunbiscuit's commission prices because I was looking to get some art done for personal use and she is usually one of the first people I resort to when that comes up. I had noticed her portfolio had changed from the initial site she was using and moved to Canva. It came with a new design and everything, however, I found it really hard to navigate between information. While there's nothing wrong with the canva route, I couldn't sit by and potentially have the difficult UX lose her some potential clients.
The build of this website was relatively straight-forward. Everything was built using vanilla HTML, CSS, and Javascript, with a couple of API calls so I could ensure that Sunbiscuit could easily update the site whenever she wanted.
The biggest challenge with this project, however, was creating something satisfactory while keeping it a secret from her. Her birthday was in November but I wanted to build this out for her as her gift. Thus, with no access to assets, I had to get creative and find ways on how to implement assets for display purposes until it was presentation time. Thus, I used some old artwork she did for me, as well as screenshots, to fill in most of the blanks. Unfortunately, Youtube videos were a challenge I needed to tackle at a later date for this very reason.
I presented to Sunbiscuit and she was very impressed and surprised! Unfortunately, she runs a busy life between being a freelancer and an animator for a Youtube channel, so she couldn't work with me to get it up and running, which is understandable. She appreciated the offer and effort I put in and in the end, that's what matters most in situations like these!

The updated homepage design, with less visual clutter than the previous version
The previous version on Canva, where there's a few cluttered elements and navigation is reliant on a popup screen
Although not in the previous iteration, a little interactive elements were implemented for Sunbiscuit to review and see if she liked them
