Case Study

This little pixel sprite was made for an assignment that was also related to the Hoenn Music Mixer assignment. Before that assignment, we were tasked with making an SVG marketplace, where we had to create SVG icons, then using HTML or CSS only, have something happen with them. Like an animation or a colour change.

Seeing as we could, and was recommended, to use these icons for the next assignment, I wanted to do mine on the Pokemon from Hoenn I adore, and Mudkip was naturally my first choice.

I was no stranger to making these type of icons. While time consuming, I just recreate these sprites pixel by pixel, to ensure accuracy.

As for the svg assignment, once this was finished, I coded all of the pixel icons to change colours on a hover. Why colours you may ask? Well, shiny Pokemon of course! They display initially as their standard colours, but I wrote some css that, on a hover, changes the cls-style of the svg to a different shade that reflects Mudkip's shiny colour!

The assignment was exactly what the professor was looking for and netted me a glowing mark for it too!
